ok ... but some times aliens would land elsewhere... have there road side picnic etc leave the same stuff to create a zone ...I think its a process...the zone forms and people start changing ...disappearing ...seeing things ...the zone works on many levels ... as the contributers on this forum would attest ,ok so a city might not be the best place .. an unused area of land out side of a small town in wales perhaps ... (ha ha postman pat can do a cameo ) with old factories etc would prob be better ... Ill think on ... great Art inspires... thats what Tarkovsky did ... painted in film ,sculpted in time ...Im a musician and have found the sounds in the film influenced me so much that I would hang out of my bedroom window as a teenager with a cheap mic trying to record the night ! .... distant sounds ...traffic etc ... I experianced a great peace inside on seeing the movie when I was 14 !!... silence and stillness is golden ... its almost Zen in its presentation...the zone is a wonderful expression of mysticism and mystery...thats why we all love it and keep going back ...In my youth i had 2 best friends ... and the trio of the writer , professer and the stalker really represent our pesonalities... I went to many zones with them disused urban areas...empty forrests ...barren landscapes ... disused quarries in Ireland ...Its all about being in the zone frame of mind ...its like seeing a new ...Im rambling ... just so good to have a place to talk about all this ... your forum is excellent mr ferret ... ill be here till they shut down the power !! I have produced a sountdtrack to stalker... its loosely based on the film ... but with another scenario and group of stalkers /Travelers in mind !if any on here want a copy ... its only on Cdr release ill happily send you one free of charge just so you can have a listen ... ill probably set up a myspace for it too so you guys can download it ... its not crap really !! I am quite good at it !! ha ha (he lied !!)
