In the movie Ivan's Childhood, does Tarkovsky picture Russia in the character Ivan, or am I being too deep by trying to find an affnity between the two? The peevishness and the poor kid's story seem to be reflecting what the country has had to experience or so I think.
Any opinions?

Tarkovkiy picture Russia in all the characters of the film, i think It is based upon a real story, as written by that long-forgotten Bogomilov.

Yeah, I guess Ivan's childhood is just a simple presentation of Russia (not USSR) during the WW2, and how russian people got through this hell. MAny movies were made about WW2 in russia, but this one is probably the most honest one.
